First-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (FESS) of RANEPA defended a comprehensive project for the Administration of Sarapul city

First-year students of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of RANEPA completed the FESS Business Battle project case championship ordered by the Administration of the city of Sarapul (Republic of Udmurtia). In three months, the students developed a set of projects united by the common theme "Development of a Municipal Entity on the Example of the City of Sarapul."
The project was personally accepted by the Head of the Sarapul city Administration, V.M. Shestakov. He noted that the students, having just completed their first year, managed to develop realistic, practically valuable solutions, and showed a level worthy of real professionals.

The teams faced the following stages and tasks:

• Stage 1

To conduct a comprehensive analysis of the micro- and macro-environment of the city of Sarapul and based on it, to compile an expanded SWOT analysis of the city from the perspective of assessing its tourist potential, as well as to develop a roadmap of activities to improve the main tourist attractions.

• Stage 2

To assess the viability of the proposed concepts of new objects in the restaurant and hotel business using marketing research and to compile a detailed financial model for launching the most promising object.

• Stage 3

To study the existing food points in the city of Sarapul and develop a strategy for modernizing and promoting the existing objects, taking into account the tasks in the field of urban development set by the Administration of Sarapul city.

• Semi-final

To form the gastronomic brand of the city of Sarapul and develop a plan of activities to include the city's restaurants in the Gastronomic Map of Russia.

• Final

To develop a concept of a tourist or sports cluster in the territory of the city of Sarapul, detailing the functional zones of the cluster, promotion strategy, the volume of initial capital, and an assessment of the economic effect.

30 judges and experts were invited to the championship - specialists in regional development, graphic and architectural design, restaurant business, and hotel industry. Among them was Y.S. Bardash, head of the Tourism Agency of the Udmurt Republic.

The project was accepted by the Head of the Sarapul city Administration, V.M. Shestakov. He noted that the students, having just completed their first year, managed to develop realistic, practically valuable solutions, and showed a level worthy of real professionals.

The head of the Center for Project Solutions, A.A. Tabachnikova, Ph.D. in Economics, Head of the Department of Socio-Humanitarian Disciplines of FESS, believes it is important that the business representatives invited to the final, from the Nizhny Novgorod region, Volgograd, Khabarovsk Krai, and other regions of Russia, have already expressed a desire to become customers for FESS project work for the next academic year.

And the winner of the FESS business championship was the INDIGO team consisting of: Vitaly Falchev, Anastasia Danilina, Alexander Astakhov, Vasilisa Tabachnikova, and Artem Rychkov..

The faculty congratulates the team on their success and, along with the other eleven finalists (Ulyana Morgunova, Eva Lovygina, Arina Gromyko, Karina Rakhmatullina, Alsina Rakhmatullina, Andrey Osin, Vadim Dzhenbaz, Valeria Kuznetsova, Ivan Timoshek, Arthur Voynich, Grigory Prokopenko), sends them for a few days to Saint Petersburg - to rest after a brilliantly conducted business marathon.
