The question are shown on the screen on by one and the participants choose the correct answer.

Year 1 StudentIn the eleventh grade, I took part and became one of the winners in the English language marathon. The prize was seven additional points to the overall result of the Unified State Exam. The marathon is divided into two stages and mainly consists of the culture and history of England and America. The preparation for the marathon was quite difficult, but very interesting, because I read about four or five books in English. Books have broadened my horizons and I have learned a lot of new vocabulary, which I use now.

Year 1 StudentI took part in the marathon in my final year of school. It was focused on the history of England and the USA. It was divided into two parts: the first one was team work and in the second one we worked individually. This marathon gave us a change to not only brush up our knowledge of English, but also meet our future fellow students and lecturers. Another nice perk was the discount that my teammates and I won. If you want to challenge yourself and compete for a prize, take part in the marathon this year!

Year 1 StudentThe marathon focuses on the history of England and the USA. I participated in it last year when I was in my final year of school. The winners get a tuition discount from our departments. I do recommend you take part in too. It was a priceless experience for me, I got to meet my future fellow students, learnt news things about the history of England and the USA and just really enjoyed the process of it all!

Do I only get the 7 additional points if I apply for a place at FESS?
The winners of the Marathon get 7 additional points to their EGE (Unified State Exam) score which are counted as individual achievement when applying for a place in any of RANEPA departments.
Why is it that only FESS holds the mini-Olympiad in English?
FESS is a Cambridge English Authorized centre and we pride ourselves on the highest quality English courses (all the Management programmes in FESS include intensive study of English).
Is this mini-Olympiad connected with preparation for EGE (Unified State Exam) in English?
The Olympiad is held in English. The questions touch upon the English Language, countries, events – anything that participants might know about the English-speaking world. The winners are those who have good knowledge of that.
