FESS students finished working on international projects requested by Sber and Avon

21   December   2021

In September, Sber requested the FESS Project Office to develop two projects:
• promotion of credit cards outside bank branches and Sber ID implementation;
• reconsideration of VIP-office concepts for “Sber First” clients.

The company has requested to develop two projects as part of Sustainable Development:
• a charity initiative against domestic violence;
• a charity initiative against breast cancer.

After three months of work, both projects were presented to the company's managers in December.

Sber projects

Two teams worked on each project alternatively. За три месяца оба проекта были подготовлены к защите, и в декабре состоялась их финальная презентация перед менеджерами компании.

Executive director responsible for retail sales at Sberbank's Moscow branch invited the students to "pilot" the solutions jointly with the company's employees.

The discussion was extremely active: due to the high level of importance, Sber representatives went into every detail until they were convinced that each conclusion of the project was based on deep and comprehensive research. Eventually, the students' work was found to be of practical benefit to the company.

Mikhail Safonnikov, executive director responsible for retail sales at Sberbank's Moscow branch, was so impressed with the projects that he invited the students to "pilot" the solutions jointly with the company's employees.

Students’ feedback

Anastasia Glebova
FESS RANEPA student

«I worked on credit card promotion and Sber ID implementation. The competition was fierce, but still we respected each other despite the fact that our task was the same – to offer argumentative solutions. In order to prioritize and meet deadlines, we used the MoSCoW method.

At the final presentation, it was crucial that our research was not just called a good one, but that it was recognized as useful and suitable for practical implementation – so that our ideas could be taken into practical development. We are not new to project work; each of us knows not only our own segment in detail, but also the work of other team mates, so we were ready for any questions.

After the presentation, I had the feeling that we had already become specialists, that we were ready to work for the most serious company. Also, we heard from the CEO that he was inviting us to continue working with credit cards in his team».

We managed to contribute to the creation and promotion of a new banking product

Natalia Ivanova
FESS RANEPA student

«I am very glad to participate in Sber projects. Though they were difficult because they bridged two different areas, through them we acquired a lot of new knowledge and skills. At the same time, we "rolled through" the experience of working in a team that operates in direct competition with another project group».

Anna Adireeva
FESS RANEPA student

«It is a unique opportunity to make a project for a leading company like Sber. I was looking forward to having this experience. In the three months of immersive work we made two breakthroughs for ourselves. Firstly, we mastered and got to grips with how the banking sector works from the inside. Secondly, we managed to contribute to the creation and promotion of a new banking product, which we were proud to present to the bank, in particular to the executive director for retail sales. I want to express my gratitude to both Sber and the FESS Project Office for this project. We have had a tremendous experience and have no intention of stopping!»

Mikhail Skok
FESS RANEPA student

«Sber gave us an opportunity to see how premium banking works from the inside. We have gained invaluable experience by creating and analyzing the opportunities that Sber First brings and we are ready to work on it!»

52 students from the three countries were involved

Avon projects

For this purpose, FESS invited SKEMA Business School students from France and Brazil to take part in these projects. Thus, 52 students from the three countries were involved. Two FESS teams were formed for each of the two projects, five teams on the French side and four on the Brazilian side.

Students’ feedback

Julia Goloviznina
FESS RANEPA student

«As the Mission to End Violence Against Women project progressed, the feeling that we were doing something socially important never waned. For me this work was also very important. Our projects brought their share of value to AVON, specifically in terms of the company's work with the mission».

Vyacheslav Bolgarin
FESS RANEPA student

«A special feature of AVON's “Mission Against Breast Cancer” project is that it has a charitable basis. It was new and interesting to work not only on developing the mechanics for raising funds for charity, but also on raising awareness of the problem among women».

Dinah Giraud
SKEMA Business School student

«After an enthusiastic work, we are genuinely happy that we managed to come up with non-trivial solutions, which the company has appreciated and taken to develop further. We look forward to implementing them. Moreover, we would like to thank Anastasia, our project supervisor from AVON!»

Ekaterina Grushina
FESS RANEPA student

«It was interesting to participate in a project with a charitable mission – it is inspiring and motivating. Additionally, it feels good to be of service to other people. Contributing to such an important mission was also a responsibility, so we wanted to make every detail impeccably».

Sabrina Rigamonte
SKEMA Business School student

«I hope that with our help more women will pay attention to the problem and take more care of their health!»

Svetlana Astanina
FESS RANEPA student

«We are very proud to be involved in this charity project. In addition, it is good to know that our ideas have been accepted and are very likely to be implemented».

Joao Victor Chaves
SKEMA Business School student

«We tried very hard since we share Avon's humanistic goals».

Vlada Sosnina
FESS RANEPA student

«This was not my first project during my studies, but the first one related to charity, especially on a topic such as breast cancer. The fact that we did the project in close cooperation with French students in English was another important experience for me. I sincerely hope that our suggestions will be implemented and that we will make the world a little better in this way!»

Mikhail Titorov
FESS RANEPA student

«In the project, we have worked through a lot of information, done a lot of analytical work and, afterwards, formulated several options for increasing the charitable reserve. Moreover, we hope that our ideas will be implemented!»
